A-Gas
The A-Gas Refrigerant R1234ze (Solstice ze) is a single component HFO refrigerant (trans-1,3,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene). It is a long-term alternative to R134a for energy-efficient chillers and/or commercial air conditioning. Being mildly flammable and having a lower volumetric capacity and a higher boiling point R1234ze should only be used on equipment specifically designed for its use. It is not intended as a retrofit for current R134a equipment. It is non-toxic but mildly flammable giving it an A2L ASHRAE. HFO's typically have a very low global warming potential (GWP) making them an excellent alternative to HFC and HCFC refrigerants for the future. NOTE: GWP rating is AR5
